The situation in Haiti, which has been steadily deteriorating over the past 7 years, has reached a level of crisis unprecedented in its history. Armed gang attacks have led to massive population displacements, degrading living conditions and traumatizing large numbers of vulnerable people. Insecurity is such that many public and private institutions, churches, schools, commercial enterprises and local organizations are forced to close their doors, or attempt to relocate. The country is paralyzed, and we are witnessing a situation of anarchy in which gangs reign.
Our local partnerUnion Evangélique Baptiste d'Haïti (UEBH), is seeking assistance from the Bible Mission to set up an emergency project to meet the primary and immediate needs of its members, the pupils of the Collège Evangélique Maranatha and its pastors. This project will be managed by theUEBH and led by a coordination of regional committees and assigned churches
We call on our members and friends to show solidarity with our suffering brothers.
For "when one member suffers, all the members suffer with it" (1 Cor 12:26).
